Our Dental Assisting program is an intense nine-month classroom and lab training course to prepare you for the State of Ohio Certification Board of Exams. Internship includes experience at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, as well as many other dental office settings.
What You’ll Learn:
· Dental Terminology
· CPR & First Aid
· Four-Handed chair-side assisting skills
· Expose and process x-rays
· Dental anatomy, morphology, and pathology
· Laboratory skills
· Administrative duties including: insurance billing and appointment scheduling
Prerequisites:
- Background check
- Recent Negative TB 1 step (BEFORE class begins)
- High school diploma or GED
- Age 18 or older
Also, must show PROOF of the following immunizations to participate in internship at OSU
- Varicella (Chicken pox)
- Tetanus and TB 1 step (ppd)
- MMR (measles, mumps, reubella)
- Hepatitis B series (provided through the school and included in tuition)
