HVAC is a combination of classroom and laboratory activities that provide a sound basis of practical knowledge needed to perform installation, service, and repair work in this challenging field. Course work is based on procedures recommended by the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute (ARI).

This course is offered twice per year, in August and March.

  • Fundamentals of basic plumbing
  • Employability skills
  • Installation & design of water piping (copper)
  • Isometric drawings
  • Backflow devices
  • Installation, operation, and troubleshooting of commercial and residential HVAC systems
  • Installation, design of vent and sanitary systems utilizing PVC, pipe sizing included
  • EPA 608, R-410A, Hydronics, OSHA 10-hour, and ARI/I.C.E. certifications
  • Load calculation
  • Soldering/brazing techniques
  • Code
  • Gas piping
  • Customer service
  • Safety
  • Blueprint reading
  • Pipe & duct sizing & installation
 Prerequisites:
 
  • Age 18 or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Background check
